On Performing

For me, live performances represent the culminating point, or the pinnacle, to which all my hours of playing, practicing, composing, and recording converge. A live performance is the purpose for which recording a CD is targeted. And although it warms my heart and fulfills my spirit knowing that there are folks out there who are enjoying and listening to my music on the CD's I have made, it is the people I play to live that I most remember.

Therefore, it stands that I do not make my choices of where and when I play lightly.

As a career educator, I do not have to pay my bills by performing or selling my music. And with my undying love for fishing, skiing, hiking, and biking in Idaho, my life is busy and full. I believe that because of this, even after 25 years, an occasional opportunity to perform my music for some special people, who have taken time from their busy schedules to have me play for them, has remained for me an honor and a special experience, and one I don't easily forget.

What follows is my Touring Schedule which represents a list of some of my public performances going back as far as 2005 and continuing into the future. And although I do not list them here, I feel I must say that it is those occasions I have played for the students who have attended my classes over all these years which are, and probably will remain, some of my most memorable "performances".
